To every woman…
For every blessing God gives a person, there is a zakat, a sublime purification, that is required upon it.
Imam Alsadiq (a.s) is narrated to have said: “Indeed there is a zakat for everything and it increases sustenance” and, “whatever you purify through fulfilling the zakat upon it, is then secured from being taken away.”
The zakat of money is charity.
The zakat of knowledge is that you teach it to others.
The zakat of the body is fasting.
The zakat of intellect is that you tolerate the ignorant ones.
And the zakat of beauty is modesty.
Despite the media which tries to convince you otherwise, beauty is inherent to every woman. It is not dependent upon fleeting, superficial trends but is a blessing that is intrinsic to who you are. Every single one of you is beautiful, that is an unchangeable fact.
However, as with all blessings you must fulfil the zakat upon it. This not only preserves your blessings, but increases them. So when you purify your God-given beauty through modesty, you preserve and increase it, becoming in the process, a manifestation of true and everlasting beauty.
