وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
We have not sent you except as a Mercy to the worlds
We have entered the blessed and special season of Mawlid al-Nabi and the blessed Hijra, where Muslims all around the world celebrate our beloved holy Prophet Muhammad (saw).
This is an opportunity for us the thank Allah (swt) for sending the Prophet to guide us and bring us the beautiful message of Islam, and to reflect about why we are so lucky to be Muslim.
Celebrating the Mawlid is not about just decorations and celebration, it is an opportunity for us to renew our allegiance to the Prophet and make the intention that we will follow Allah (swt) and the Prophet in everything we do with our lives. This is also not just about the Mawlid itself, it is also an important time to remember the Hijra that occurred during this time and is one of the most defining events in Islamic history. We should reflect upon everything the Prophet went through and learn about his sirah and all the events that have been pivotal in his life.
With that being said, creating a joyous environment during this season is essential, so that it is remembered as a special time for children and adults alike. So, don’t forget to decorate your house in green, make special foods and desserts and open anasheed about the Prophet!
We wish the entire Muslim Ummah a happy Mawlid al-Nabi and pray that we can be true followers of Muhammad and Muslims that he would be proud of
